Match 1: Madusa w/Spice vs. Buzzkill
Cruiserweight champ Madusa and gorgeous sidekick Spice make their way to the ring. Madusa gets the mic and informs everyone how she is the first woman to win the belt. She said she proved last night that a woman can beat a man anytime, and that women are dominating WCW with a little T&A. She calls anyone who wants to to get in the ring. She notices Buzzkill wandering around the seats with a equal rights sign, and she tells him to get in the ring and give her an equal chance to beat his ass. Madusa drops a few missile dropkicks on him, but when she attempts a german suplex, Buzzkill fights back, and eventually lays her out with a russian leg sweep, but the referee is distracted by the sweet Spice, allowing Madusa to clock Buzzkill with a foreign object and get a pin
Winner: Madusa retains cruiserweight belt

The old announcing team is back, with Tenay, Schiavonne, and Heenan, and to welcome that back, Tony drops the "This may be one of the landmark Nitro's in history." The announcers recap the Hart/Goldberg swerve, and announce that there will be a return ladder match for the US Title between JJ and Benoit, a triple threat match involving the former Triad members, and a hardcore tag match...

PTB is in the office saying that there will be a lot of problems tonight, that emotions are running high. Hennig says he saw Hugh Morrus backstage, and PTB books a match between Hugh and Hennig, and tells Curt to make it Morrus's last match. PTB asks Creative Control if they have seen Piper yet, and when they indicate they haven't, he tells them to bring Piper in as soon as he gets here. Elsewhere, Piper is shown arriving in his limo with his son, who is anxious to meet all the wrestlers.

Piper's son is helping him tape up his wrists, when Creative Control busts in and tells him that the boss is ready to see him now.

Match 2: Curt Hennig vs. Hugh Morrus
As the men make their way to the ring, the cameras cut back stage to a shot of a guy dressed like the angel of death whupping on what looked to be "Shane" with a pipe. During the beginning of the match, an old man in a hospital gown comes out of the crowd and heads to the ring, distracting Hugh Morrus, who refers to the man as Pop, and tells him to go back to his seat. Pop stays at ringside watching the match. Morrus sees Pop still at ringside and tells him to leave, leaving him vulnerable to a back attack by Hennig. Pop comes down to ringside again as Hugh nails a big slam on Curt. Hugh leaves the ring and talks to Pop, and tells him to wait just two minutes. True to word, Hugh walks into the ring, gets nailed with the Hennigplex aTonynd the match is over in just under two more minutes. Pop gets in the ring and talks to Hugh for awhile.
Winner: Curt Hennig

In the office, PTB confronts Piper about his actions at Starrcade. He tells Piper that he has to go out front and tell everyone that he sold out, that it was all his idea, and that PTB won't fess up to any of it. Piper rants about how he, Hogan, and MTV built this business, and that if PTB thinks he's setting Piper up, it's actually the other way around, Piper's setting him up. He says that he loves the fans, that the fans got him into this business and off of the street, that the fans saved his life, and he will never tell the fans that he sold out. Piper says he's going to go put his son in the car, turn the heater on, and leave a couple security guards there to keep him safe, and then he's gonna come back and continue this discussion.

Tony recaps the original screwjob with the WWF, and that how Bret Hart hasn't been the same since, and that one of the Powers That Be, Vince Russo, was with the WWF then, and is rumored to be the one that actually scripted the ending, and what did that have to do with what happened last night. Tony, Bobby, and Tenay argue back and forth about what might have actually happened, and Tony lets us know that Nash has been vocal in Goldberg's defense all day long so far, and as if on cue, out comes Big Sexy. Kev gets the mic and talks about how wrestling is like no other business in the world, and how when you first break in, the old guys teach you the codes and rules of the business, and that one of the codes is that you never screw over the guys. What you see in the ring is one thing, but what goes on backstage is a whole other thing. Nash says that there are two parts to the business, the boys, and the office, and that night after night, the boys come out and give their bodies, while the office takes and takes and takes, because, and I quote "The office doesn't give a shit about us." Nash says that if the office can find a way to screw over one of the boys to make a buck, they will, and while he may not care about Goldberg, what happened to him last night was "bullshit". Nash says that Bret Hart found a way, through the office, to screw one of the boys. He says that Hart isn't the best there is, best there was, or best there ever will be, he's just a "piece of shit." Wow...just in that segment this whole angle got a hell of a lot more interesting. Outstanding job on the stick by Big Sexy.

A clip is shown of "during the break" of Bret Hart storming into the arena. Elsewhere, Mean Gene is with Creative Control, asking them whether the PTB were involved last night. CC says that Nash is the biggest politician backstage, and that he can't speak for all the wrestlers, and that someone might need to shut Nash's mouth permanently.

Match 3: Tank Abbott vs. Jerry Flynn
This is pretty much a shoot match, with the ref getting decked by both men, tons of punches and kicks traded before WCW Security breaks it up. The men fight off the first wave of security men, but are eventually separated by the forces. Flynn is handcuffed by the officials, prompting a couple of open shots by Tank Abbott before the match gets broken up finally.
Winner: No Contest

Out back, Goldberg, aka the swervee, is shown arriving at the arena in a niiiiiiiice silver corvette.

The Revolution gets in the ring, and after calling him out a few times, gets Duggan to come down to ringside, so he can fulfill the stipulations of last nights match. Shane Douglas tells him to renounce the US and destroy the flag. Duggan refuses to do it, and proceeds to get beat down by the Revolution. Douglas says to hell with Standards and Practices, they'll burn the US flag right now. As Malenko readies the blowtorch, a bit of music hits and out comes the Filthy Animals, who clear the ring and save Duggan and the flag.

Backstage, Piper is making his way to the ring, with his son still tagging along.

The sounds of the pipes hit and out comes the Rowdy one, without son. In the back, Bret Hart and Goldberg are watching the events unfold in their respective locker rooms. Piper says he sold out to the slimeballs backstage. Piper talks about how he's done a lot of things, but he's not buying the new era in WCW. He says people want to see fights, not stories. Piper says that Goldberg is one of the biggest talents ever, which starts a big Goldberg chant. Piper says that WCW has treated him better than any other organization, but that if they want him to continue the dog and pony show, then he quits. He says that if they're looking for some real deal fights, give him a call, but he doesn't want to be associated with this anymore. He says he's too busted up to do this anymore, and he quits. His son meets him halfway down the entryway, and is followed closely by Goldberg himself. Goldberg gets the mic and says he stayed up all last night trying to figure this whole thing out. He says that growing up watching wrestling, he admired certain guys, Piper being one of them, until last night. He says that when confronted with a choice, Piper made the wrong decision, he sold out, and that Goldberg will never do that. Piper apologizes to Goldberg, and tells him not to be a phony. Hart comes down and says that the heat is with the office, that no one knows better than he does about getting screwed by the office. Hart says he considers the belt vacant, and that he's going back to the office and telling them to shove the belt up their ass. Everyone goes backstage, and Bret storms into PTB's office saying he has a big problem with him, and PTB says that all he wanted to do was to make up for Survivor Series. Bret drops the strap on his desk and says that you don't mess with someone's life just to make up for something. PTB tells Bret that if he thinks he's so tough, he can face Goldberg tonight and get his ass beat like he was going to last night.

Back from commercial, the announcers say that a match between Bret Hart and Goldberg has been signed for the vacant WCW World Title for tonight, and that Creative Control is in a handicap match with Kevin Nash.

Match 4: Screamin' Norman Smiley & Meng vs. Fit Finlay and Brian Knobs
Hardcore Tag Match
Meng attacks Smiley before the match starts, and Norman decides to clear the area, but is met on the ramp by Finlay and Knobs, with a bag of goodies, and all four men go at it. Finlay and Knobs finally drop Meng with repeated trash can shots, and then the hardcore soldiers chase Norman, eventually ending up in a men's bathroom somewhere in the arena. After sticking his head in the toilet a few times and breaking a door off a stall, Knobs scores the pin on Smiley.
Winner: Fit Finlay and Brian Knobs.

Backstage, Piper tells his son he just has a few things to take care of, then he'll come back and they can go home and have some Christmas. Hot Rod grabs a baseball bat, bangs it around the door and wall a few times to show that it's not a rubber bat, and heads off to wherever his intended target is.

A video is shown of the artist formerly known as prince iaukea in a recording session. Backstage, Piper is on the warpath, and Bret Hart tries to stop him from doing whatever he's going to do, but no luck...

Match 5: The Maestro w/Symphony vs. Evan Karagias
Sorta pointless match. Evan goes up top, and knocks down Symphony, and she sells an injury, prompting Evan to check and see if she's okay, which in turn allows Maestro to attack from behind and score the win
Winner: The Maestro

Backstage, Piper destroys the set of the PTB office with a baseball bat, knocking down all the walls and busting up a few of the tables as well. Roddy Piper, one man home remodeling team.

Backstage, Amway Chavo checks to see if Evan is okay, since he's lost the belt, the match tonight, and all the women. Chavo then tries to sell him a book called How To Pick Up Chicks, which enrages Karagias, who proceeds to beat the hell out of Chavo.

Match 6: Chris "Champagne" Kanyon vs. DDP vs. Bam Bam Bigelow
This supposed triple threat turned out to just be a double team beatdown. DDP calls for the diamond cutter, but Bam Bam asks to hit the Greetings From Asbury Park instead. DDP allows Bam Bam to hit his finisher. DDP shakes Bam's hand, then nails the Diamond Cutter on Bigelow. DDP then tries to hit the cutter on the ref, but instead leaves the ring, kisses some girl in the front row, and goes backstage. Mr Biggs hops up from the broadcast table, tosses a champagne bottle in to Kanyon, who crushes it across Bigelow's dome, and gets the three count.
Winner: Chris "Champagne" Kanyon

Backstage, Kevin Nash is heading towards the ring.

Match 7: Kevin Nash w/Scott Hall vs. Creative Control
Handicap Match
As Nash comes out, he points backstage when ol' Last Call himself comes gimping out the entrance on a pair of crutches. Just when things seem their bleakest for Big Sexy, the not-as- gimpy-as-he-looks Scott Hall hops in the ring and beats down both Creative Controllers with the crutches. Just like a hockey fight, this one will be judged on looks alone, since there were no refs in the ring.
Winner: Kevin Nash

TTP, dressed and painted as Sting, is shown in the stands, while Liz, still wearing the Scorpion top she had on last night, mock attacks him. Oh those crazy kids.

US Champ Benoit heads to the ring for his return ladder match with the Chosen One.

Match 8: Chris Benoit vs. Jeff Jarrett
WCW US Title Ladder Match
Good match...both men try to get the ladder involved early, but it remains just outside the ring. Benoit discovers a million uses for a chair, first wedging it between the top and middle rope in a corner and whipping JJ into it, then suplexing him onto it. Benoit injures JJ's leg and while the ref calls for the trainer, Benoit gets the ladder and tries to climb it to get his belt, when all the rungs fall out. Benoit tries the other side, same result. JJ miraculously recovers, cracks Crippler with a guitar, and then grabs a spare ladder from under the ring, climbs it and becomes the new champ. Quite possibly the Greatest United States Champion ever...
Winner, and new US Champion: Jeff Jarrett

After the match, JJ is with Mean Gene, who tells him that he is positive that he gimmicked that ladder. JJ threatens Mean Gene, and says the Benoit got what he deserved, when Curt Hennig shows up and tells the new champ that PTB wants to see him right now.

Match 9: Sid Vicious vs. The Wall
After a few minutes, Sid nails a chokeslam and gets ready for a powerbomb, when Berlyn comes out and distracts Sid. After a few punches, The Wall gets ready to hit a chokeslam of his own when Berlyn comes off the top rope and nails the Wall with a missile dropkick, prompting the ref to call for the bell. Post match, Sid nails Berlyn with a powerbomb and he and the Wall shake hands and leave the ring, two blonde behemoths...kinda like Lenny and Lodi on roids
Winner: Sid by DQ

Backstage, JJ is talking to PTB in his limo, who promises him something bigger than the US Belt, tonight, and tells him to sit back and enjoy it.

After commercial, Disco meets with the Boss of the Marinara family. He tells Disco that his money is no good, and the only way to pay off his debt is to join the family and do whatever Tony Marinara tells him to do.

Bret Hart and Goldberg are shown preparing for the world title match later on...

Match 10: The Varsity Club (Rotunda & Steiner) w/ Kimona vs. Harlem Heat
Sullivan sits at the broadcast table and talks about Goldberg getting screwed and how great the members of the V Club are. Varsity Club dominates for a while, and then Rick Steiner takes a break and takes over the broadcast position for a second or two, while Sullivan gets in the ring. Steiner goes back to the ring while Rotunda sits at the table for a moment. Sullivan comes back to the table and informs the world that Kimona's name is "Leimeout" (lay-me-out). While Stevie Ray is pounding on Rotunda, the lights go out and Midnight hits the ring. Stevie Ray gets into a disagreement, which allows Rotunda to hit the schoolboy roll up for the pin. Post match, PG-13 run in the ring, nail the Varsity Club with some trash can lids, and run out again...so that's the mysterious returning tag team
Winner: Varsity Club

Backstage, Vamp and the Misfits are standing around, being punks, when D Flair's girl grabs a soda from the Surge cooler. Jerry Only comments on her tattoos, and the girl begins to flirt back with him, but she's got a different style, and ends up kneeing Only in the stomach. I think I've met this girl before, she did that knee thing to me once..Vamp and the Misfits break up the scuffle, Vamp calls the girl a crazy bitch, and she says they made a big mistake by touching her. The girl runs off and Vamp comments on what a freak she is. Isn't it ironic, don't ya think?

Crazy Davey Flair and his hottie come to the ring, and Flair lays out Penzer with the golden crowbar. Heenan makes the shrewd analysis that the couple looks like the top of a wedding cake from hell. Flair gets the mic and shrieks for Vampiro to come out so he can beat his ass. Vamp comes down and says he doesn't want any problems with him, that the whole deal with the girl was a misunderstanding. Vamp apologizes, saying he's sorry...that's Flair's a psycho freak, and that the girl is mental. Flair nails Vamp from behind, and then lays out Jerry Only when he comes out to make the save. Tenay informs us that the girls name is Daphne, and the two leave the ring.

Backstage, the Misfits are being tended to by the paramedics, when they spazz out and start trashing anything in sight

Mean Gene brings out Buff Bagwell. Buff works the crowd by saying how great B-more is. Buff talks about his neck injury, talks about his multiple tag reigns, but says something is missing in his career. Buff says it's about time that the Buff Daddy gets some gold around his waist. He says he's been kept down, but he's about to rise to the top and be the man in the next millennium. Gene asks Buff to address the rumors about him and Kimberly Page. Buff covers up the mic and starts to leave. Gene says that if Buff leaves, it's the same as admitting his guilt. Buff says it's all rumors, that he and Kim are just friends. Gene says that Buff was spotted with Kim several times while DDP was in Hollywood. Buff says that if Gene wants the whole story, he'll give it to him. Buff says that Kim is a 10 in his book, and if DDP wasn't married to her, Buff would put his (censored by S&P), and that if Gene walked into his room and found Kim laying in his bed, would he kick her out? Gene says it would be a hard thing to do, and Buff says neither would he. DDP's music hits and DDP runs out and jumps Buff from behind. WCW Security breaks things up and we go to commercial.

Backstage, Piper is saying goodbye to some of the wrestlers, and goes into a speech about how he built the business, and that they need to watch our for themselves and not to let the writers turn them into clowns. Elsewhere, JJ is in his dressing room, pounding a Surge and settling in to watch the Goldberg/Hart match.

Match 11: Bret Hart vs. Goldberg
WCW World Title Match
Goldberg hits a few knees in the corner, then a short clothesline. G-man measures some punches, Hart tries to attack the leg, but gets doubled up by a punch. Goldberg chokes Hart with a boot for a while, then Hart goes outside. Goldberg follows, hits some more body blows, then Hart recovers, hits a few shots, then Goldberg throws him into the steel rail, and tosses him back into the ring. Goldberg hits a slam, then the ankle submission, Hart grabs the ropes. Hart works over Goldberg's body with some kicks and punches. Bret works on Goldberg's legs, and hits a few punches in the stomach area. Hart goes back to the leg, twisting it and kicking it. Goldberg powers out of the corner with a chokehold, tosses Bret into the opposite one. Ref goes down after Hart bumps him. Bret lowblows Goldberg and slaps on a Figure Four. Nash and Hall come down to the ring with baseball bats, fake to hit Hart, but lay out Goldberg instead. Nash hands Hart a bat, Hart nails Goldberg and covers. Piper hits the ring and tries to make the save, but no luck, Hart wins the match. Piper lays on top of Goldberg, but gets nailed by a Jarrett guitar. With both men laid out, a couple of cans of spray paint appear and just like that...the logo is sprayed on both men, the music hits, the band is back together, THE NWO HAS REFORMED...Hart - World Champ, Jarrett - US Champ, Hall and Nash - Tag Champs. Nash grabs the mic and informs us that indeed, THE BAND IS BACK TOGETHER!!
Winner, and new WCW World Champ, and big heel turn...Bret Hart
