WCW MONDAY NITRO
LIVE FROM: COLUMBUS, OHIO
Report by WrestleRic
Opening
New commissioner Kevin Nash, along with Jeff Jarrett and Scott Steiner arrived at the
building. They then entered an office where the Harris Boys, clad in suit and ties, were
the door men. Inside, the NWO (minus the Hitman) took it easy, surrounded by a bevvy of
beauties.
Kidman versus Psychosis
Kidman won this battle of the cruiserweights when he turned an attempted powerbomb into a
"face jam".
Winner: Kidman via pinfall
--A video clip of Arn Anderson from earlier in the day was shown. The Enforcer said that he was sick to his stomach because he realized that Sid's foot was under the rope when he tapped out to the Crippler Crossface. Tony Schiavone then announced that the world title was vacated.
--No sooner than Booker T told Mene Gene that he would straighten his brother out did Stevie Ray and Big T call Booker to the ring. In no time flat, Booker attacked Big T. After Big T hit Booker with a "tiger bomb", Stevie Ray demanded that Nick Patrick ring the bell and start a match.
Big T w/Stevie Ray versus Booker T
As the referee was tending to Stevie Ray, Big T pulled a slapjack out of his fanny pack,
nailing Booker T with it to get the win.
Winner: Big T via pinfall
Disco Inferno w/The Thugs versus Vampiro
Vampiro won another one with the "Nail in the Coffin."
Winner: Vampiro via pinfall
David Flair/Crowbar (c) w/Daffney versus Shane/Shannon w/Evan Karagias *Tag
Team Championship*
The tag team champion interrupted three count, who were once again attempting to sing
their "hit" song. As Standards and Practices watched Crowbar dropped Shane with
a reverse DDT for the win.
Winners: David Flair/Crowbar via pinfall (Retain Tag Team Belts)
The Maestro versus Tank Abbott
Three or four seconds into the match, Abbott laid out the piano man. After the bell,
Norman Smiley was egging Abbott on. However, the real staredown occurred between Abbott
and Meng.
Winner: Tank Abbott via knockout
--The WCW roster came from the back and entered the ring. Kevin Nash, accompanied by the NWO and the Harris Boys (while Hail to the Chief) played in the background took the ramp. Big Sexxy gave the U.S. title back to Jarrett, told Mike Tenay that he wanted to give him a personality, Brian Knobbs a brain, Tank Abbott a heart, and Norman Smiley some courage. After joking about feeling like Oz, he set out four rules that all the WCW wrestlers would follow. 1)Mandatory rectal exams before every match. 2) Total equality in the lockerroom--that is everyone will use the same lockerroom. The only exception is that no one is to look Nash directly in the eyes, and is to refer to him as lord master. 3) No one is allowed to ask about the world title. His official stance on the subject is "I'll let you know." 4) There will be no illegal substances in the lockerroom. He said that the dogs were going through their bags and would find the Viagara in their bags, specifically pointing out Lex Luger. After wanting to know if Buff was really "doing" Kimberly, he announced that DDP and Buff would square off in the main event with Kimberly as the special referee. At one point, he became infuriated when the crowd began chanting "Goldberg" and threatened to fired the "son of a bi**h." He then reminded the "pukes" that the NWO was running the show.
Masahiro Chono/Super J versus Varsity Club w/Leiah Meow
The Varsity Club came back after their suspension by Standards and Practices to lose to
the Japanese team when Super J rolled Masa Chono over (who was in a rollup with Rotunda)
who pinned Rotunda for the win.
Winners: Masahiro Chono/Super J via pinfall
Sid Vicious versus The Wall
Sid destroyed The Wall before pinning him with a chokeslam. Upon orders from the
commissioner, the Thugs and Disco Inferno were told to attack Sid. Sid however,
powerbombed both thugs while Disco took the high road and went to the back.
Winner: Sid Vicious via pinfall
--Scott Steiner hit the ring, in Michigan garb to rile up the rival Ohio State fans. Big Poppa Pump took exception to one "fan", pulled him over the rail and bloodied his nose.
The Total Package w/Elizabeth versus Bam Bam Bigelow
While Elizabeth distracted the referee, Kanyon distracted BBB, who had Luger ready for the
"Greetings From Asbury Park." When he turned his back, the Package broke a
champagne bottle over Bigelow's head, giving him the 1-2-3.
Winner: The Total Package via pinfall
Diamond Dallas Page versus Buff Bagwell
This match spent more time on the floor as a hard-core match than it did in the ring.
Kimberly went to shove Buff, but with his hand, he accidentally knocked her down. DDP then
hit the diamond cutter for the win. However, Kimberly with a mean look on her face, did
not stick around for the celebration.
Winner: Diamond Dallas Page via pinfall
