WCW MONDAY NITRO
LIVE FROM: LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA
Opening
A three bell salute was given to the recently passed Bobby Duncum Jr. Commissioner Nash,
the NWO, including Scott Hall arrived at the arena. An eight man tournament will begin to
crown a new Cruiserweight champion, with the finals occurring at SuperBrawl.
Psychosis w/Juventud Guerrera versus Kaz Hayashi
Psychosis rolled up Kaz for the victory.
Winner: Psychosis via pinfall
--In the back, the NWO observed as Arn Anderson and Terry Funk entered the arena. Big Sexxy then told Jeff Jarrett that the doctor's have not cleared him to wrestle, but he had another plan. Nash also decided that since Funk was walking around in his gear that he would face Bam Bam Bigelow in a hard-core match, with an added stipulation that there was a $15,000 bounty on the head of Funk. Nash also appointed Don Harris to replace Jarrett against Sid in the Roadblock match.
The Wall versus Kid Romeo
The Wall humiliated the power plant rookie before defeating him with a chokeslam.
Winner: The Wall via pinfall
--Sid Vicious told Mene Gene that he did not care what road block was in his
way, that his only goal was to destroy Kevin Nash and become the WCW champion.
--Arn Anderson tried to talk Bam Bam Bigelow out of wrestling Funk, who responded by
saying that he would wrestle his own mother for $15,000.
--The girls of the NWO told Scott Hall and Scott Steiner that they wanted to see blood and
guts. Hall and Steiner then pulled three wrestlers out of the hallway and chose Al Greene
to wrestle on Nitro.
Shannon Moore versus Norman Smiley
The Screamin' One defeated the back up singer of Three Count with the Norman Conquest.
After the bell, Three Count tried to sing but were ousted by Smiley, who danced to their
music.
Winner: Norman Smiley via pinfall
Al Greene versus Tank Abbott
The NWO watched as Abbott knocked out Greene with his devastating right hand. Bobby Heenan
interviewed a man at ringside who Abbott had eye contact with when he left the ring. The
man, refusing to give his name said Abbott was a sell out. Steiner and Hall laughed as
Greene was being loaded into an ambulance.
Winner: Tank Abbott via knockout
--The Cat (with a head full of blonde hair) returned and said he was going to "whoop" everyone.
Bam Bam Bigelow versus Terry Funk
The Bammer jump started the match by whacking the Funker with a chair as he was on his way
to the ring. Fit Finlay and Brian Knobbs interfered, sticking a chair on top of Funk as
Bigelow was airborne with his headbutt from the top. Funk told Nash that he would have to
kill him to get rid of him, and that he would have reinforcements on Thunder.
Winner: Terry Funk via pinfall
Sid Vicious versus Don Harris w/Ron Harris
Despite having to deal with the Harris Boys pulling the old switcheroo, Sid proved
victorious with a powerbomb.
Winner: Sid Vicious via pinfall
Kidman w/Torrie Wilson versus Vampiro
Courtney Cox-Arquette and husband David enjoyed this match from ringside as Kidman
countered an attempted powerbomb from the middle ropes with a Frankensteiner for the win.
Winner: Kidman via pinfall
--In the back, Arn Anderson was talking to "champ", who said he would be at Thunder. At the other end of the arena, Jeff Jarrett was telling Kevin Nash (who was receiving a massage) that he needed to take his match seriously.
The Total Package w/Liz versus Booker T
Before the match, the Package said that everyday that Sting spends cowering, the stronger
he gets. He also said his record is better than that of the "Immortal Hulk
Hogan." While the referee was distracted by Liz, Midnight, and Stevie Ray, Big T
attacked Booker from behind. Although a mute point, Luger applied the Torture Rack for the
win. After the bell, the lights went out, came back on, and either Sting, or a man dressed
as Sting (I am assuming the latter) stood in the smoke filled entryway pointing a ball bat
at the Package.
Winner: The Total Package via referee's decision (Booker T was out cold)
--Mene Gene before interviewing Vampiro, apologized for a technical error, saying that it wouldn't surprise him if the WWF sabotaged his microphone. Vampiro said he has a lot of respect for Kidman and hopes that he will be granted a rematch on Thunder.
Mamalukes w/Disco Inferno (c) versus Hardcore Soldiers *Tag Team Championship*
Before the match, David Flair, Crowbar, and Daffney ousted the broadcast team and took
their spots at the position. Brian Knobbs threw a chair in the ring, mistakingly hitting
Finlay, giving Johnny The Bull the opportunity to hit the Paison Plant for the win.
Winners: Mamalukes via pinfall (Retain Tag Team Titles)
Sid Vicious versus Kevin Nash *Heavyweight Championship*
Before the bell, the commissioner outlawed the powerbomb for the evening. While the
referee was down, Jeff Jarrett tried to interfere, but Sid took the guitar and nailed Nash
with it. Sid then played possum so that the referee would not think that he used the
guitar. Sid then crawled on top of Nash for the pinfall to become the new WCW champion.
Winner: Sid Vicious via pinfall
