February 7, 2000
Hosted by Tony Schiavone and Mark Madden
Live from Tulsa, Oklahoma

In a reprise of last week, Madden is behind the broadcast table, which is a good move...

Show opens backstage with JJ gloating about what he has planned for Sid and Funk for tonight.

In the ring, 3 count starts the show off with their own brand of sports entertainment..They announce that they are going to have a contest tonight and a girl can win a dream date with 3count. Their music starts but slows down and speeds up at different rates. To sort out the confusion, Norman Smiley is shown in the production trailer telling the PA's to slow down and speed up the music, after a few minutes of this, Norman has them play his music (I thought I just saw Scott Hall in the crowd, but it was just a random person with a "Will wrestle for beer" sign.)
Norman makes his way to the ringside to a pretty good pop and is going to take on Evan.

First Match: Norman Smiley vs. Evan Karagias
Norman dominates the match for nearly the entire time, even taking the time to lay out the other two members of 3 count before scoring the pin on a reversal. Post match, Norman challenges all of 3 count to a handicap match at SuperBrawl, and proclaims that it is Wiggle Time in Tulsa.
Winner: Evan Karagias by pinfall

Tony and Madden run down the card for tonight, with Madden continuing his "nWo announcer" persona. Tonight Funk faces David Flair in an I quit match, Demon faces Billy Kidman, Booker against The Wall, and an interview with The Total Package.

Backstage, Biggs and several policemen enter one of the locker rooms areas and search Booker's bags, confiscating his music and his tights apparently. Biggs says he has something for Booker tonight. Elsewhere, JJ and the nWo make their way to the ring area.

A black limo is shown out back - the door opens, out steps three hotties, closely followed by the Nature Boy, Ric Flair

As the nWo makes their way to the ring, Madden sneaks in a jab at the XFL, Steiner is dressed like a purple pimp, and Madden and Schiavonne speculate about the quality of the nWo girls. Hall grabs the mic, but passes it to the Harris Boys, who have a little speech for the crowd about respecting the nWo, BPP gets the stick, and WCW bleeps out "hoochies." Pump proclaims himself the king of the night, and has a few of the girls explain what it's like to be with the purple warrior. They say that Pump is Superman, prompting Steiner to show off his new t-shirt. Pump rags on Flair for being old, and that if WCW wanted to spend money on old people, why didn't they get Nature Boy #1, Buddy Rogers? Pump says that Flair has no class compared to Rogers, and says that when Flair comes on TV, people switch to WWF to watch Stone Cold, a guy him and his friends got fired from WCW. Pump says that WCW and Flair suck, and that he is nWo for life...JJ grabs the mic, says it looks like he's back in Slapnuts country, and says since he's still acting commissioner, he's announcing that the ref for the SuperBrawl match will be his paid off flunky, Mark Johnson, and that there will be no DQ in the match. He says Sid doesn't have to defend his belt until then, but that Sid has to wrestle Scott Hall tonight in the main event. Hall seems surprised, but JJ says that he has cleared Hall to wrestle tonight.

Backstage, Booker in some tiny trunks that would look better on Spice, makes his way to the ring with Midnight. He says they may have taken his colors and his music, but that no one can take his dignity. Uh, Booker, look at what you're wearing...you left your dignity in the laundry room.

After commercial, Gene is interviewing David Flair, who makes a coherent statement for once, saying that he is going to fight one of his father's battles for him tonight, while Crowbar vows to donate some outside interference.

Match 2: Booker w/Midnight vs. The Wall
Wall seemed to have this one won when he went up top and tried to come down on Booker, who retaliated with a dropkick, hits the axekick, then the Yurinagi Suplex, and when he goes up top himself, Biggs comes out with two cops. A distracted Booker gets nailed with a chokeslam and is pinned by Wall, and then arrested by Biggs's cops.
Winner: The Wall, and Booker's cellmate (he'll love those tights)

Backstage, Knobs busts into the nWo's room and confronts JJ about the swerve last week that got his arm busted. JJ asks if he wants to get in the ring with Finlay tonight, and he says hell yeah, and JJ says consider it done. After he leaves, JJ reveals that Knobs will be in the ring with Bigelow, with Finlay as the ref again. Elsewhere, Arn confronts Funk about the I quit match, and says that he'll see how Funk handles himself in the match, and then he'll decide who's side he's on after that.

After commercial, Lenny and Lodi are discussing their plans to challenge the Mamalukes to a tag title match tonight, a move that Lenny says will guarantee them an appearance on Thunder.

Match 3: The Barbarian vs. Tank Abbot
Barbarian gets in a few punches, Abbot pulls off some sort of wrestling move, looked like a botched spine buster, then Abbot lands the big right hand for the KO. Tank's former bodyguard is shown in the crowd again.
Winner: Tank Abbot

Backstage, Crowbar comes upon the casket of the Demon, and starts playing some KISS air guitar in front of it, before a patented Daffney scream is heard from offstage. Crowbar stops, looks around, and yells "Coming!" before heading off.

Aw yeah...though it may not be the Kid Cam shot of Torrie I was looking for, but it's better than nothing, and hey...it's TORRIE!!

Oklahoma makes his way out to the ring and announces that acting commish JJ has told him to organize a new division in WCW, and that it is the job he was born to do, that he is the general manager of the WCW women's division. He promises rigorous medical exams for each women and that he will be present at each, to look out for them. He says he has some bad news for Madusa, and brings out "Dr. Haywood Jeter" a renowned plastic surgeon, who admits to performing a plethora of surgical operations on Miss Madusa, including her lips, eyes, nose, chest, and rear. Madusa makes her way out at that time, bitchslaps the doc and kicks Oklahoma, then cracks the clipboard over the doc's head and then tortures the "little doctor."

Backstage, Ric and entourage admire themselves on the TV monitors, and a quick cut to Mean Gene, who says the executive committee has been in a closed door meeting and that Terry Taylor will be coming out with some important news. Elsewhere, David Flair and Crowbar are heading to the ring.

After commercial, Taylor says that the committee can't change match participants, but they can change stipulations, and that special referee Mark Johnson is out for SuperBrawl, and that tonight's Sid/Hall match will be a world title match.

Some clips from the Funk/Flair I quit match of ‘89 are shown, to hype up the next match...

Match 4: Terry Funk vs. David Flair
I Quit Match
Funk offers David a chance to say I quit before the match goes any further. David says that he would rather go to hell before quitting. Funk then challenges Ric Flair to come out and face him instead of his son. David comes up from behind and lands about 5 or 6 chairshots. The match moves outside, where Funk drops a piledriver on him, on the mats, then when he refuses to quit, drops him on the concrete with another piledriver. Funk calls out for Ric to come save his son. Funk sets a table up outside the ring, and piledrives David through it as well. Funk starts setting up another table, while the crowd breaks into a "We Want Flair" cheer. Funk drapes Flair across the table and then comes down on him. Funk then gives Ric 5 seconds to come down before he ruins this kid's career. Funk countsdown, but no Ric Flair. Funk says that he doesn't need to pound on David Flair any more, and that he quits tonight, but he won't quit at SuperBrawl.
Winner: Terry Funk

Backstage, Arn Anderson tells Mike Tenay to gather up a camera crew and find him in about two minutes. After commercial, Arn says that David didn't need to take that beating, and that Funk didn't need to do it, so that he's not taking up for either side after what he just saw.

Match 5: Disco Inferno w/Mamalukes vs. Stevie Ray w/Big T and J. Biggs
At one point during the match, Big T, J. Biggs, and the mamalukes are all kicked out of the ring area and told to head backstage. Stevie dominates for awhile, then heads to the slapjack, but gets jacked by Disco, who lands the swinging neckbreaker. Disco and Charles Robinson scuffle over the slapjack, allowing Stevie Ray to nail a modified pedigree and get the win.
Winner: Stevie Ray

Backstage, Scott Hall and JJ talk some strategy about tonight, Hall reassures JJ that he'll just soften him up for him at SuperBrawl, and elsewhere, Sid tells Mean Gene that he's going to end Scott Hall's career tonight.

Tony announces that Heenan is the new announcer on Thunder, which I'm guessing makes Madden's move to Nitro permanent. Two good decisions by WCW in a week?!

Ric Flair packs up his women and gets back in his limo, saying that Arn is in over his head, and he'll take care of this.

Match 6: Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Brian Knobs w/Fit Finlay as special referee
Hardcore Title Match
Ladders, Trash cans, kendo sticks, you name it, this match had it all, including some confusing refereeing, when Finlay helps out Knobs by handing him a trash can to use on Bigelow, but then helped Bigelow by helping him score the pin and win the belt. Hey, at least there is a legitimate Hardcore Champion now...could this be foreshadowing a possible feud with Sabu when he comes in??
Winner, and new WCW Hardcore Champion: Bam Bam Bigelow

Backstage, Mean Gene talks to the Cat, who promises that James Brown will be at Thunder to see Ernest whup somebody

Match 7: Kidman w/Torrie vs. The Demon
Damn, Torrie is hot. During Demon's entrance, Crowbar is shown in the back marking out to the KISS tune. I think Torborg's got the size and potential to be a big name, but he keeps getting saddled with some lame gimmicks. Demon dominates early on, but misses on an elbow drop, allowing Kidman to recover, until Demon squashes it with an implant DDT. Kidman kicks out, but gets nailed with a side slam. Demon goes back up top, but Kidman trips him up, climbs the ropes and hits a top rope frankensteiner and gets the win. Post match, Crowbar runs into the ring and whacks Kidman, then bows to Demon. Demon shakes his head and leaves the ring.
Winner: Kidman

Backstage, Sid says something incomprehensible, then cackles for a few seconds. Must've been one funny knock knock joke. Luger and Liz are shown making their way to the ring.

A preview of Ready To Rumble is aired, and it looks not so terrible, especially the part with Spice and the Nitro Girls (who are they?) ripping off their skirts during one of their routines. Niiiiiiice :)

Sign in the crowd just reminded me of something...people may consider Atlanta Goldberg's hometown, but the man was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma. You would think that WCW would find some sort of on-air spot for him tonight, imagine the pop he'd get from this crowd...

Luger comes to the ring and cracks on Hogan for awhile, and promises to break him in two at SuperBrawl. Luger says since Hogan isn't in the building, he's going to call out a close friend of Hogan's, Jimmy Hart, so he can give Hart a message to deliver to him. Hart says he isn't Western Union and doesn't deliver messages, but that he is more than capable of talking about Hogan. Hart says that Luger is a Hogan wannabe, that Luger will never sell out as many shows, sell as much merchandise, or have as many fans at house shows as Hogan gets fan mail. Hart says that every time Luger gets a check, he's stealing money from Hogan. Luger says that since he gave Hart his say, he should deliver a message for him, and since Hogan put his hands on Liz at Thunder, Luger will retaliate. Lex lays Hart out, and puts his hand in the chair, and stomps it, bringing WCW Security to the ring to break it up.

Match 8: Scott Hall vs. Sid Vicious
WCW World Heavyweight Title Match
Hall slaps Sid, Sid clocks Hall with a right hand. Hall hits Sid with the toothpick, Sid tosses him into a corner and pounds on him. Sid immediately goes to the chokeslam, but doesn't attempt a pin. Hall nails a fallaway slam, which lays out Sid and the referee, accidentally. JJ comes out to the ring while both men work Sid over, throwing him into the guardrail and over the broadcast table. JJ retrieves his guitar and works the crowd, then leaves the ring. Back in the ring, Hall nails the Outsider's Edge and covers, but the ref is still out. JJ gets back in the ring and pulls Hall off of Sid. The two have an argument, and JJ nails Hall with a guitar and pulls Sid on top of him, letting Sid get the win. The rest of the nWo confront JJ and he tells them that you are either with him or with Hall.
Winner: Sid Vicious
