SmackDown Report - 2-10-00

SmackDown kicks off from Dallas, Texas. Your hosts as usual are Michael Cole and Jerry "The King" Lawler.

Kurt Angle vs. Val Venis for the European Championship
Angle had a few things to say before the match. He said even though he slammed Mae Young, he could still be a role model for kids and elderly people alike. As usual he insulted the crowd but said that he'd win the European title tonight in Dallas. Val hit the ring and the match was on. Nothing spectacular went on. A lot of punches, kicks, clotheslines and the like. Angle countered Venis' Money Shot attempt by crotching Val on the top turnbuckle. Afterwards, Angle hit his finisher (doesn't that thing have a name yet?) and got the pin for 3.
Winner and new European Champion: Kurt Angle

Backstage we go where DX and The Radicals satnd by watching Angle exit, Stephanie especially. Anyway, as usual the McMahon-Helmsely era has a plan in store for tonight and it's called "divide and conquer." Dean Malenko draws Grandmaster Sexay while Perry Saturn has Scotty 2 Hotty on his hands. Chris Benoit takes care of the rest of the Too Cool clan by getting Rikishi in his match tonight. The Outlaws will take on The Rock and Cactus Jack in a non-title match. And X-Pac along with Triple H will take on Kane in a handicap match for this evening's main event.

Grandmaster Sexay vs. Perry Saturn
Like I said, I'm half assing it so no greatly detailed match descriptions. Overall this was a very fine match, at one point Grandmaster hit a powerbomb onto the floor from the apron on Saturn. The ref took a bump when Grandmaster missed Saturn and clocked him with a crossbody. Grandmaster went up top and hit the "Hip Hop Drop" (which used to be called the Tennessee Jam) and had the match wrapped up, but the ref was out and Saturn had enough time to kick out after 2. Shortly after, Saturn locked on the Rings of Saturn, and even though Grandmaster Sexay had his foot on the ropes, the ref called for the bell.
Winner: Perry Saturn

Edge & Christian vs. The Dudley Boyz
Edge and Christian double teamed the Dudz early on, but then it was all the Boyz from there. Both D-Von and Buh Buh Ray took turns working over Christian for a while. Christian then hit a nice Tornado DDT and made the hot tag to Edge who cleaned house. Buh Buh Ray went for a Samoan drop on Edge but "pulled a hammie" as he lifted Edge. Christian then caught D-Von in a sunset flip, Edge assisted with a dropkick from the top rope and Christian made the pin.
Winners: Edge & Christian

After the match, Buh Buh Ray called out the EMT's and out came a couple real EMT's along with BB. As Buh Buh was being wheeled up the ramp, D-Von asked him if it hurt and Buh Buh said "It doesn't hurt at all!" At this point the Dudley's took out the other EMT's and took hold of BB and headed inside the ring where D-Von set up a table. BB then got a powerbomb through it, sort of. Buh Buh did another fine job of protecting her and sending himself ass-first into the table. Although BB did take it a little better than Terri. Just as they hit, BB leaned back and it created a nice illusion that BB really did go through the table, but she didn't obviously. Still some nice work from both of them. Afterwards BB was stretchered out.

Damn, is Buh Buh Ray one lucky SOB or what? First Terri's titties and crotch in his face and now BB's!

Scotty 2 Hotty vs. Dean Malenko
A good piece of wrestling here. Mid-way through, Eddy Guerrero came out to some decent heat. I always thought he made a good heel myself. Malenko continually worked over Scotty's knee and with a little help from Eddy (Eddy shoved Scotty off the top rope) Dean locked on the Texas Cloverleaf and picked up a victory.
Winner: Dean Malenko

Another Tazz promo was shown.

New Age Outlaws vs. The Rock & Cactus Jack
Pre match - Cactus got on the mic and said 17 more days till No Way Out. He said his career will not be lost, but Hunter's title will and Jack'll go on to WrestleMania. The Rock hit the ring and surprisingly did not cut a promo. Cactus started the match but quickly tagged in the Rock. From there, Rock took over and worked pretty much the whole match. The Outlaws took turns working him over and also worked in an occassional double team. Finally, Rock got a hot tag to Cactus who took out both Outlaws and seemingly had the win, but the ref was pulled out by Mr. Ass. The Rock took care of that little problem however. Jack went under the ring and found a lead pipe and busted the Dogg with it. It was over from there but Jack pulled the Dogg back up and delivered a pull over piledriver to put the dot on the exclamation point.
Winners: The Rock & Cactus Jack

Gangrel & Luna vs. Jacqueline & Prince Albert
Prince Albert as Jackie's partner?! Well, I guess you gotta do something with the guy. Anyways, very short match here, as Luna took the win with a DDT on Jackie.
Winners: Gangrel & Luna

After the match, Prince Albert hit a 2 handed chokeslam on Gangrel.

Rikishi Phatu vs. Chris Benoit
Excellent match here. Good lord, Benoit lifted Rikishi a few times. Benoit hit him with a Northern Lights Suplex, a regular suplex and something else as well but I forget what, sorry people, I'm falling asleep as I type this. Anyway, as I said before a very nice match. The Radicals crahsed the party though, causing a DQ for Benoit.
Winner: Rikishi Phatu via DQ

Post match, Too Cool ran in and took out the Radicals. Rikishi hit a belly to belly suplex on Satrun and then they got some great crowd reaction with their usual dancin' routine.

Steve Blackman was backstage swingin' around his kendo sticks when he heard that oldies tune "Personality." (If that's what it's called.) Al Snow was standing in the shower (the water wasn't on or nothing) and said he was trying some subliminal messaging on Blackman. He said if he does it enough, Steve might actually get a personality. Funaki stopped by and pointed at Blackman calling him Headcheese. Snow said "It's working man!"

Al Snow & Steve Blackman vs. The Hardy Boyz
Decent match. Snow and Blackman worked well as a team. Jeff was up top for his senton bomb, but the Dudley's, I mean the damn Dudley's ran in and Buh Buh Ray clocked Jeff with a chair. Snow came off the top with a leg drop, while Blackman held him and Headcheese got the win.
Winners: Snow & Blackman

Chris Jericho vs. The Holly's in a no DQ, handicap match for the Intercontinental title
Jericho said that he's roll himself up, hit a 7-10 idiot split on Hardcore and "his boy Elroy" and he'd be the Ayatollah of Rock and Bowlah. Heh heh. The match barely even began and the Acolyte Protection Agency came in, on Jericho's behalf. Y2J was directing traffic as Bradshaw leveled Crash with the Clothseline from Hell and Faarooq hit the Dominator. Y2J then toppled on him for an easy 3 count.
Winner; Chirs Jericho

X-Pac & Triple H vs. Kane
Triple H and X-Pac worked over Kane in this match pretty well. Not much offense from Kane until the end where he was pummeling X-Pac but HHH came in and plastered the Big Red Machine with a chair that had no affect on the big guy. I think there was a chokeslam for 'Pac in there. I dunno I was halfway out on the couch people. Anyway, Tori came in and tried to hold back Kane, but Kane locked on a choke. Then, the refs swarmed the ring, but Kane took 'em all out, which was pretty cool I thought. Kane then reapplied the choke on Tori as a helpless HHH and X-Pac watched. The crowd grew louder in anticipation on Kane chokeslamming Tori, but he tossed to the mat. Seconds later, she tried to reason with him but this time he flipped her up over his shoulder and drove her down with a Tombstone Piledriver. That was the end right there. Ah, yeah, X-Pac and HHH were DQ'ed in case you were wondering.

Best signs in crowd: "My Wife Has Tasty Pie" & "Rikishi, I Have Bon-Bons!"

Calbowski - I did get your quote I'm just so dead tired that I just wanna get this thing done. I'll e-mail ya later.
