WCW Thunder Report - Evansville, Indiana - January 19/2000
Announcers: Mike Tenay, Tony Shiavone and Scott Hudson

Thunder opens with the usual WCW sign followed by clips of the parking lot, where a black limousine pulls up. Kevin Nash, Scott Stiener, Jeff Jarrett and a few ladies get out and making their way to the nearest entrance.

In to the arena, where the Flair trio make their way out. Their opponents the Mafia types with Disco Inferno.

Crowbar/David Flair w/ Daphne Vs. The Mafia w/ Disco Inferno
Flair starts off with Big Vito who knocks David down and then lays the boots in on him. Picks him back up, backs him into the corner and begins to punch and choke Flair. Vito backs off and showsboats, but ends up coming back in to get a few bites in on Flair. Irish whip by Vito. Flair counters with a boot to the face, and whips Vito back to the opposite corner. The Bull comes in as Vito and Bull double team Flair. They send him to the outside, where they follow to the outside. Crowbar sets up and dives over the ropes to break up the Mafia. Crowbar and Vito get back into the ring, and Crowbar dominates only for a two count. Vito slides out of the pin and takes control with a long standing vertical suplex. Daphne constantly screaming at the top of her lungs on the outside. Jonny gets tagged back in and takes control of Crowbar. Crowbar gets out of the hands of the Bull, in time to tag in Flair. Flair comes in only to be knocked down by the Bull. Crowbar tags back in and goes wild on the Mafia. Crowbar gets Vito on the canvas, then heads for the top rope, splash in to a pinning attempt only to be broken up by Jonny the Bull. The Bull and Vito are now double teaming Crowbar. Daphne passes David a crowbar, who then tries to get in to the ring to help his partner, but Crowbar gets whipped into David, which results in Crowbar getting nailed in the head by the crowbar. Vito pulls Crowbar back into the center of the ring and pins him for the three count.

Winner and NEW WCW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Mafia Types

Tony, Mike and Scott the announcers, build up tonight’s Thunder line up, which includes DDP Vs. Chris Kanyon. We’re then shown an outside shot of the nWo, headed by Kevin Nash, trying to get into the arena, but to no avail, due to a group of police/security guards blocking the entrance into the arena. Nash states he is the commish, and that he has the right to be in there, the police officer states that Nash is not to be given access into the building tonight. We’re then shown DDP and Kimberly Page making their way into another arena entrance. Commercial.

Back from break, and Mean "The Dirty Perv" Gene, is with the Mafia and Disco Inferno. The Mafia state that they finally got the titles. Disco grabs the title and celebrates, but Jonny grabs the belt back and says something about Disco not helping out the boss. Disco says that he is the manager of champions.

Jim Duggan Vs. Curt Hennig
Into the arena we go as Hacksaw Jim Duggan makes his way down to the ring. Duggan gets a mic and gets the fans pumped up with USA chants. He then says that he loves his country and is proud, etc. Hennig comes out on the ramp, and says that he has been called a lot of things. An nWo-ite, a horsemen, but never a Janitor. Duggan says that Hennig can do what the tv show says so. Come on DOWN! Hennig hesitates but finally comes walking down the ramp. Hennig and Duggan lock up, and Duggan gets control sending Hennig to the outside. Strong chants of USA. Hennig shoulder blocks Duggan in the abdomen and then gets in the ring to work over Duggan. Hennig gets a side headlock on Duggan but is reversed with a whip into the turnbuckle. Hennig falls back wards into the center, but is picked back up by Duggan who backs him into the corner and does the 10 punch on the turnbuckles. Duggan gets his 2x4 and attempts to hit Hennig but stupidly hits the Ref. Hennig rolls to the outside and takes a walk. Duggan’s music starts up, as he celebrates in the ring, and then checks on the fallen ref and Hennig leaves.

Winner: No Contest

Before going to commercial we’re shown Nash and the nWo yelling and physically abusing an averaged sized man who is working on a computer. Nash yells at the man to get "them" into the Booking Meeting. (So… the nWo is fighting to get inside…then somehow they get inside the building? Real smooth WCW)

Back from break, and 3 Count are in the ring, putting on their dance routine. Fans begin to cheer loudly as Norman Smiley comes in and does the Big Wiggle, in baseball catching gear. They stop sting, and Norman takes out each of the 3 count members, and ends up clearing the ring. Smiley gets on the mic, and states that he has just beat three of the toughest men in WCW. States that he eats hard core food, breaths hardcore air, and that how dare Nash state that he has no courage on Nitro this past week. Abbott’s music starts up and he walks on out to the ring. Smiley gets out of the ring quickly, as Abbott gives chase. Smiley backs his way up the aisle, but falls up the ramp, Abbott picks him and just one punch knocks out the former Hard core champ.

Back from break inside the nWo locker room where Nash tells the Harris brothers to go find out what is happening in the closed door meeting. The brothers leave as we fade back to the arena.

In the arena Lash Leroux makes his way down to the ring. Followed by Psycosis who has Juvi with him. Juvi gets on the mic and states "Finally the Juice has come back to Columbo..er… Where we at? Oh ok.. Finally the Juice has come back to Evansville!" Next up is their opponent Chavo Guerrero.

Lash Leroux Vs. Psycosis w/ Juvi Vs. Chavo Guerrero
Starts off with Juvi and Chavo slapping and punching each other stiffly. Whip by Psycosis, Chavo counters with a flying head scissors. Juvi and Pyscosis realize Lash is doing squat, and nail him. Psycosis goes for a cover, but Chavo yanks him off Lash. Chavo and Psycosis back at it with Chavo going for the cover, Chavo rolls off as Lash elbows Psycosis. Chavo knocks Lash out to the arena floor, as Chavo and Psycosis go at it once again. Psycosis with the control, but is stopped by a returning Lash. Lash goes for a cover on Psycosis, only gets two. Lash sends him to the arena floor, and then follows him out with a whip into the guard rail. Chavo climbs to the top ropes and goes for a flying body splash onto the unsuspecting Lash. All three men slowly back into the ground, until Chavo whips Psycosis into the ropes, and back body drops him over the opposite ropes to the outside. Lash punching Chavo, Chavo counters with a go around DDT. Chavo takes him into the corner, and then gets a tornado DDT on Lash. Psycosis back onto the apron, climbs up top and goes for a guillotine leg drop into a pin.

Winner: Psycosis

Before going to break, we’re shown Kidman who is up next against The Artist Formerly Known As Prince Iaukea.

TAFKA Prince Iaukea w/ Paisley Vs. Kidman
Back from break with the Artist in the recording studio. Oh my god, does he suck. Into the arena, where the Paisley lead Artist makes his way down to the ring. The only thing that actually is pretty good is his entrance. That’s about it. The lights come up and Kidman makes his way down to the ring. No Torrie. Kidman and the Artist lock up, Artist backs him into the corner, Artist lets go and runs a finger down Kidman’s chest. Kidman snaps and begins to hammer away at the Prince. TORRIE WILSON! She makes her way down to ring with her hair curled, and wearing a nice one piece suit. OH YEAH! There’s a match going on…. Kidman gets control and goes for a sunset flip into a pin, only two. Artist gets control but hesitates. Kidman gets a few shots in but Artist knocks him back down. Artist goes to the apron to springboard back in, but Torrie yanks him off the apron to the floor. Kidman goes after him and throws him into the guardrail. Back into the ring, with Kidman in control.. Whips Artist into the ropes, followed by a power bomb, for the pin.

Winner: Kidman w/ Torrie Wilson (She’s back….)

Kidman and Torrie celebrate in the ring. We’re then shown Terry Taylor walking out of an office, and walks off camera with a bunch of guards. Commercial.

Back from break, with Taylor walking to the ring with guards. Taylor states he stands in front of us as a part of the executive board. He says the last 72 hours have been strenuous. He then states that next week their will be a new, undisputed heavy-weight champion crowned on this coming week’s Nitro. Taylor states that Nash is able to choose one opponent, while the board will choose their man to lead them into the new century. That man is Sid Vicious. Whoopie. n….W….o… Nash makes his way out on to the ramp, and cracks a joke about Taylor’s hair. Nash states that over the last 72 hours, he’s read the commissioner’s rule book. Nash states that he makes the matches and that he runs things around here. Fans start to chant GOLDBERG. Nash says he’ll fire his ass if they chant his name. Nash says that he’ll name his guy, but first Sid has to go through a "Test". That will be against Jeff Jarrett. Jeff states that the bigger the slap nut, the harder they fall. Nash then goes on to say that if Sid can go against Jarrett, and defeat him, then he will face Kevin Nash, the Commissioner. Nash gives a message to Taylor to give the Executive Board, that the nWo is going to be, bigger and stronger from here on in. Commercial.

Back from commercial, and we’re shown the nWo locker room, where Nash signs Booker T and Big T vs. Sid & Lex Luger as the main event for tonight. In to the arena we go where Berlyn makes his way down to the ring, followed by his former bodyguard, and opponent, The Wall.

Berlyn vs. the Wall
Berlyn goes at the Wall with european uppercuts. Wall counters the shots with a wrist lock. Berlyn counters and whips Wall into the ropes, Wall picks Berlyn up on his shoulders and executes a samoan drop. Wall goes for a pin and only gets two. Wall then back body drops Berlyn to the floor, where the Wall follows on out with a double axe handle off the apron. Berlyn gets control, gets back on the apron and goes up top. Comes off the top with a flying cross body on to the Wall. Wall slow to his feet, but gets Berlyn and rams him back first into the apron. Berlyn gets into the ring, and baseball slides the Wall, to keep him out. Wall goes to another side of the ring and is met with a chop to the chest. Wall counters with a whip into the ropes, followed by a clothesline. Shiavone states that an added stipulation on the Jarrett/Sid match for Nitro, is that if Jarrett wins, Nash gets the World Title by default. Back into the ring, Wall goes for suplex, but Berlyn counters with on of his own. Wall gets up, and then tries for a chokeslam, Berlyn counters with a kick to the groin. Berlyn off the ropes, and is met by a boot by the Wall. Wall covers for the victory.

Before going to commercial, we’re shown DDP and Kimberly chatting in their locker room.

Sherri Martel Vs. Madusa
Back from break, and Oklahoma is shown coming down to the ring with his Cruiser weight title around his waist. Oklahoma states that he stands in front of us as a man, a real man, and the new WCW Cruiser weight champion. He states that he told Madusa that he was gonna bouncer her silicone *bleep*’s back to the kitchen. He says that at that time, he realized there were good working men in the back that could use the title. Oklahoma states that he has decided to forfeit the title. AND IT DOESN’T HAVE TO DO ABOUT HIM NOT BEING A CRUISER WEIGHT! Madusa’s music starts up as she comes down to the ring. Madusa says that Oklahoma is a 260 pound piece of chewed up bubble gum. She goes on to say that she should be the person to get the title off him. She says she’s here to start a women’s divison, and that she didn’t enjoy wrestling him. States she can love like a woman, but hate like a man. Oklahoma says that women should not be in the ring, but if she wants to fight he can arrange that. Sherri Martel then jumps Madusa from behind. Sherri choking Madusa on the bottom rope. As Ms. Hancock from Standards and Practices survey’s the scene. Not much action, except for a few chokes. Madusa gains control eventually and pins Sherri.

Winner: Madusa

Back from commercial with Flynn making his way down, followed by Finlay.

Jerry Flynn Vs. Fit Finlay w/ Brian Knobbs
Flynn just kicking Finlay repeatedly until Finlay gains control with a shot to the face. Buzzkill is seen walking around in the audience, with a sign. Finlay and Flynn still going at it. Finlay tosses Flynn to the outside, and gets a chair. Finlay nails Flynn in the throat and then in the back. Flynn gets a cheap shot in and then rolls Finlay back in. Knobbs makes his way down with the title around his waist, and a kendo stick in hand. Finlay tosses Flynn to the outside, where Knobbs kicks and then whip him into the steps. Back in now, as Finlay whips Flynn into the corner, follows in but misses. Finlay regains control, whips Flynn into the opposite corner, Flynn moves out of the way, as Finlay comes running in. Knobbs nails Finlay with the kendo stick. Flynn rolls him up for the win.

Winner: Jerry Flynn

Chris Champagne Kanyon w/ Ladies/J Biggs Vs. DDP w/ Kimberly
Back from commercial, as we see Chris "Champagne" Kanyon and his ladies make their way down to the ring. CCK states he’s been to Hollywood, and this dump definitely isn’t Hollywood. States he is to wrestle DDP tonight, says he has a problem with that since he’s beaten DDP one on one already, and in a three way match that included Bam Bam Bigelow. Says he has nothing to prove. Kanyon states that DDP is actually proud to be from New Jersey. Says that being proud to be from Jersey, is like being proud to be from Evansville. States New Jersey is the right arm pit, and Evansville is the left armpit of America. DDP’s music starts up as Kim walks out. Kanyon cuts the music and says that DDP has sent a woman to fight his battles. CCK tells Kim to come to a real man. Kim states if he gets rid of the bimbo’s she may. Kanyon is knocked down from behind by DDP off the top rope. Backward suplex by DDP. Kanyon up, slingshot by DDP. DDP whips Kanyon off the ropes, DDP goes for a hip toss, Kanyon counters with a swinging neck breaker. Kanyon puts on a modified reverse headlock and keeps DDP grounded. DDP fights out of it, and then clotheslines Kanyon over the ropes. Kanyon gets control, and executes a modified guiloteen leg drop across the neck off the apron onto the ringside steps. Back into the ring, and Kanyon gets a cross body block off the top on DDP. In to a pin, only two. Kanyon with DDP down in the corner, choking him. DDP gets out and then goes for a modified choke slam. Both men back up and J Biggs on the apron, Kanyon runs at DDP, but DDP ducks and Kanyon runs into the briefcase. Back and forth action, until DDP slaps on the Diamond Cutter, for the win.

Winner: DDP w/ Kimberly

Before going to commercial, we’re shown Big T and Lex Luger discussing their match in a locker room. Tenay states these guys are opponents and they’re chatting. We’re then shown the nWo locker room, where Nash asks Stiener what kind of men they are, Scott yells out what kind of men are they.

Lex Luger w/ Ms. Elizabeth and Sid Vs. Big T and Booker T w/ Midnight
Back from break with Lex Luger making his way out with Ms. Elizabeth. Followed by his tag team partner, Sid. Their opponent’s, first Big T comes out to Harlem Heat’s theme. Follwed by Booker T. Big T and Sid start off. Tie up, leads to a break up of the two big men. Hesitation by both men as they work the crowd. Big T walks over to Booker T and tags him in. Fans are clapping away, Luger is clapping away but refuses a tag, but gets tagged anyway. Luger and Booker hook up, Booker gains control with a side headlock into a whip into the ropes, shoulder block, Luger rolls out but is rolled in by Midnight. Nash makes his way out to the entrance stage. DAMN CAMERA MAN GET OFF NASH! Thank you. Anyway, Sid has Booker down on one knee, Sid tags in a reluctant Luger. Booker gains control and goes after Luger, but is hit by Big T with a slap jack. Sid comes in and choke slams Big T. Luger rolls back in and puts the Torture Rack on Booker T. Booker submits, as Thunder fades out.

Winner: Lex Luger and Sid
