WCW Thunder - Wednesday, February 2, 2000

Thunder opens with clips from this past Nitro where Acting Commissioner Jeff Jarrett announced himself as the opponent for Sid in a heavyweight title match up at Superbrawl. Another series of clips were shown of the same event, where Ric Flair was interviewed, and later announced for a six man tag main event that night on Nitro.

Into the arena we go as Tenay states there is a steel cage hovering up in the rafters. How will it play into to tonight’s broadcast. All of a sudden the nWo music starts up and Scott Hall, Jeff Jarrett, Scott Stiener and the Harris brothers make their way down to the ring accompanied by the usual nWo ladies. Stiener gets the microphone and states that he has his hoochies with him tonight, and that last night he proved there is nothing finer then Scott Stiener. He then announces the acting commissioner, Jeff Jarrett. Jarrett states that on this past Nitro, he beat that "slap ass" Sid. Oooh he’s getting creative. What’s next? Jarrett states that Sid will not defend the title again until Super Brawl. Jarrett states that Sid will participate in a Triple Threat Theater. First up is Mike Rotunda Vs. Sid, second will be Rick Stiener Vs. Sid in a hard core rules match and the third will be Sid Vs. The Harris Boys in a handicap caged heat match. Jarrett says that he will be busy tonight however, if you need to speak with him... he does take bribes.

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown a white limousine parked outside in the parking lot.*

*Back from commercial, and we’re shown the nWo locker room where a referee is asked by Jeff Jarrett, if he can be bought. The referee responds with an enthusiastic hell yeah. Jarrett proclaims he found his referee for his Superbrawl match.*

Screamin’ Norman Demon Smiley Vs. Demon
The Demon takes Norman down and begin to strip Norman of the Demon attire. Norman doing a good job of selling it as he screams bloody murder. The Demon strips Norman down to yellow trunks. With the big a big frown on them. Demon punching away at Norman as he screams in the corner. Demon picks Norman up, Norman counters with the Norman Conquest.

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown Lenny and Lodi dressed in their West Hollywood Blonde’s outfits. Lodi states that they should just get dressed up and go out to the clubs. Lenny and Lodi before leaving come up with a name for themselves, Too Express.(?) They decide to wait till Monday, so they can think through their new gimmick.*

*Back from commercial, and we’re again shown the white limousine outside.*

Sid Vs. Mike Rotunda
Rotunda tries a waist lock take down from behind but Sid easily counters and backs Rotunda into the corner. Sid climbs the ropes and does the "10 punch". Sid brings Rotunda out, but Rotunda gains the advantage and slaps on a figure four leg lock. Sid reverses the move and Rotunda releases. Rotunda up first and he goes to work on Sid’s leg. He then mount’s Sid’s back and executes a modified Cross Face. Sid gets to the ropes. Sid gets up, Rotunda tries to work in on Sid, Sid counters with a choke slam. Sid showboats, Rotunda gets a cheap kick in on Sid, but Sid comes back with the Cross Face for the submission victory.
Winner: Sid

*Before going to commercial, Mean Gene is in the back with Vampiro. Gene asks why he got involved in Kidman’s match with Wall this past week on Nitro. Vampiro states that when he said he respected Kidman, he meant it. But that doesn’t mean he has to like him.*

*Back from commercial, we’re shown clips of the recent Cruiser Weight title tournament*

In the ring 3 Count attempted to do a performance, but it seemed as though their mics were cut off, so they gave up on that idea.

Shane Helms Vs. Shannon Moore
Two of the three members of 3 Count, put on decent match. Shane dominated the match until Shannon countered with backslide for the victory.
Winner: Shannon Moore

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown the nWo locker room where Madusa stormed in and asked for a Women’s Division. Jarrett consulted with Stiener, and ended by stating he’d look into it for her. Following that we were shown the white limousine, the back door opened and Hulk Hogan stepped out*

Mean Gene announces that Hulk Hogan is in the building, and he invites him down to the ring. American Made starts up, as the Hulkster steps out onto the stage and down to the ring. The fans pop like crazy. (Don’t motivate him!) Hulk states that he’s been at home, sitting on the couch watching WCW tv, and is sick and tired of what he sees. He goes on to say that he has been talking to Goldberg over the past few weeks, and is upset that the "writers" have been making his business into a comedy. Hogan states that he is sick and tired of the young dudes coming out acting as though they are big shots, but really are just no bodies. (Uh... Mr. Hulkster, you were one of those young du-err.. well not a dude. But I’m sure you were young at one point. You were a no body when you started, and you grew in popularity, because the veterans didn’t hold you back then, YOU ARE HOLDING THE UP AND COMERS OF TODAY BACK.)
Lex Luger makes his way out, and states that he gives Hogan credit for showing up, since Sting has never showed up in the past weeks when he’s called him out. At this point, the camera shows a figure in the Thunder entrance way. The figure who looks like Sting points the bat at the ring. Luger tells the figure to get his ass down to the ring. Hogan isn’t "buying" it. The figure removes a wig and you can see that the figure has no hair. Luger shrugs it off, and then turns around is attempts to hit Hogan, Hogan answers back with multiple punches of his own. Whip into the rope by Hogan, big boot knocks Luger cold. Liz comes at Hogan with the ball bat. Hogan picks her up and does a WEAK atomic drop. Liz roll out of the ring, as Luger runs out of the ring as Hogan comes at him with the bat.

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown Kidman warming up in the back as Torrie is holding the Kid cam on him. Kidman takes the cam from her and puts the camera on her. (Ah.. much better.)*

*Back from commercial, and we’re shown the nWo locker room where Jarrett is talking to Oklahoma. Jarrett asks Oklahoma if he could book the Women’s division. Oklahoma takes the job.*

Kidman w/ Torrie Wilson Vs. Vampiro Vs. The Wall
Kidman and Vampiro double team Wall and knock him to the outside. Vampiro then turns on Kidman and suplexes him. Vampiro has Kidman in the corner and jut pounds away on him. Wall back in and knocks Vampiro down. Wall picks up Kidman and gorrila press slams him. Wall works away on Vampiro until Kidman revives. Wall punches away at Vampiro, Torrie sets up a chair on the apron and then goes over to the opposite way and distracts the referee. Kidman grabs the chair and nails Wall twice. Wall snaps and just choke slams him over the ropes and to the floor. Torrie checks on Kidman. The Wall is perched on the top rope, Vampiro rushes him and attempts a super-plex, but Wall counters with a choke slam from the top. The Wall covers Vampiro for the victory.
Winner: The Wall

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown the Heavyweight champ, Sid who is making his way towards the entrance to the arena.*

*Back from break and we’re shown Mean Gene who is conducting an interview with the Mamalukes. Gene asks the Mamalukes a question, but they ignore it and state they are the Paisans, not the Mamalukes. Lenny and Lodi interrupt them and state they are the Mamapukes. Lodi states that they are Idol and Lane. (?) The Paisans tell Lenny and Lodi to go away or they’ll get beating.*

Rick Stiener Vs. Sid Vicious
Sid comes rushing in and connects with a clothesline. Rick roll to the outside, and pulls Sid’s feet out from underneath him. Stiener whips Sid into the guardrail and over it. Rick climbs over, and executes a standing clothesline that sends Sid over the guardrail and through the announcer’s table. Stiener punches Sid’s abdominal multiple times, and then leads him over to the time keeper. He grabs a chair and nails Sid’s back. Sid snaps and whips Stiener into the guardrail. Sid gets a chair and hits the broad of Stiener’s back. (This had to be the worst chair shot I have ever seen.) The chair didn’t even make a THWACK noice. It just made a very low thud). Sid and Stiener fight to the back stage area. Sid and Stiener trade blows with large black curtains behind them. An arm with a silver bat hits Steiner, knocks him out cold. Then Sid gets knocked out with the same arm with the bat. Sid falls right on top of belly up Rick Stiener, the referee counts the three.
Winner: Sid Vicious

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown Kimberly and DDP walking toward the entrance backstage.*

*Back from commercial, and we’re shown WCW Motor Sports. Chae an Fyre of the Nitro Girls chat with one of the drivers. (I thought Fyre was released? Could this be a sign she is back, or is it just an old promo?) We’re then shown Hulk Hogan getting into his limousine.*

Diamond Dallas Page w/ Kimberly Page Vs. The Machine
Decent entrance for the Machine. The guy is dressed in Goldberg’s tights, boots and knee pads. The Machine gets the upper hand at first, but DDP goes for a leg sweep and takes the Machine down. The Machine gets back up and whips DDP into the ropes, and connects with a shot to the kidney’s off DDP. DDP gets the control again and clotheslines himself and the Machine to the outside. DDP and Machine roll back into the ring and DDP goes for the "10 punch" but the Machine drops DDP’s neck on the ropes. The Machine gets control and executes a russian leg sweep. Picks him back up, and does a one armed front slam. DDP gets back up, The Machine gets perched on the top rope, DDP shakes him off, and then climbs the ropes. DDP comes off with a flying clothesline. DDP then run into the ropes, Machine tries for a hip toss but DDP ducks, rolls of the Machine’s back and executes the Diamond Cutter. DDP covers the new comer for the win.

*After the match Diamond Dallas Page climbs into the crowd and celebrates, as we head to commercial.*

*Back from commercial, clips of the Ric Flair and Terry Funk confrontation on this past Nitro are shown. We’re then shown Mean Gene with Arn Anderson. Arn states that he is stuck in the middle between Flair and Funk. States that he is very close with Ric Flair, but Terry Funk bailed him out of the nWo attack a few weeks ago. Arn goes on to say that he guys should not be fighting, but focusing on the enemy, the nWo.*

Villiano IV w/ Villiano V Vs. Tank Abbott
Villiano comes at Abbott and attempts a series of punches, but Abbott just picks him up and slams him down. The referee lectures Abbott about something, while Villiano IV rolls out of the ring and Villiano V rolls in. Villiano V gets knocked out by the Abbott punch. The referee checks on Villiano V, while Villiano IV comes back in, but it knocked out by the Abbott punch. Referee Nick Patrick starts the count, around the four count mark Abbott leaves the ring, and heads to the back.
Winner: Tank Abbott

*Before going to commercial, we’re shown Disco Inferno and the Paisans are discussing strategy for their up coming match with David Flair/Crowbar. Clip of the Flair/Crowbar/Daffney trio hanging out backstage.*

*Back from commercial, and we’re shown Terry Funk asking Arn Anderson who he wants to be with. Funk says that Arn KNOWS that Flair doesn’t give a damn about his kid, him (Arn) or WCW. Arn doesn’t want to answer right now, but Funk wants an answer.*

Non Title Match: The Paisans w/ Disco Inferno Vs. David Flair/Crowbar w/ Daffney
Crowbar and Johnny the Bull start off. Disco joins the announcing table. Crowbar controlling the match and attempts a northern lights suplex for two. Ms. Hancock is shown making her way down to the aisle. Daffney hisses at Hancock, until Ms. Hancock finally walks back up the ramp. Back in the ring Crowbar controlling with a springboard over the ropes back into the ring. Tries for a pin but gets two. Crowbar tags in David Flair, and Johnny the Bull tags in Big Vito. Vito totally dominating the young Flair. Vito goes for a double ax smash off the second rope, into a pinning combination. Crowbar makes the save. Vito locks a biting hold onto Flair and continues till Flair is flat on the mat. Vito climbs to the second rope and tries for a double ax smash again, but Flair rolls out of the way and tags in Crowbar. Crowbar takes down Vito and then Johnny. Double team clothesline by the Crazy One’s sends Vito to the floor. Crowbar sends Johnny over on the opposite side. Vito back in, Flair gets the ACTUAL steel crowbar and clubs Vito in the back of the head. Crowbar covers, referee counts the three.

*Before going to commercial, the Harris Boys are shown making their way to the Entrance way for their main event, handicap caged heat match with Sid.

*Back from commercial, the cage is lowered while the nWo music plays in the background*

MAIN EVENT: Handicap Caged Heat - Harris Brothers Vs. Sid
Sid comes out limping as the Harris Boys already in the ring charge down the aisle and pummel Sid. The Brothers lead Sid down to ringside and lay him out on the replacement announcer’s table. They then lead him back over to the cage door and all three men in. The cage isn’t the hell in the cell type. Standard Steel Cage, that sits on the apron, with a roof attached as well. The Harris Boys drop elbows onto the fallen Sid in the middle of the ring. Sid snaps and grabs at one of the brothers, but the other knocks him down from behind. One brother holds Sid up while the other takes shots on him. The two of them try to double whip Sid into the cage but he counters and whips them into it. Sid tries for a choke slam but decides to go for a power bomb, the other brother stops him. One holds him while the other climbs the ropes. Sid low blows the brother holding him, grabs the one coming off the ropes by the throat, choke slam, pin for the victory.
